differin vs retin a micro

by nika, Jul 04, 2001 12:00AM
dr- for the past 4 months i had been using differin gel to treat my acne with no luck.  my doctor recently put me on retin a micro and told me to give it a try, but she warned me that there is a chance i can break out from it (my skin geting worse before it gets better).  since my skin has already been used to the differin, do you think my skin will still break out when i start the retin a micro?  if so how bad or long will the break out last? also i use a benzoyl peroxide cleanser- is it ok to continue using that in conjunction with the retin a micro?  thank you for your time, nika

No, you don't need to be concerned with a significant flare with Retin-A micro.  And you can certainly use a benzoyl peroxide cleanser with it.

Best.
