diprolene

I have had a small rash on my chin for about nine months.  It's is about 1 1/2 cm in diameter. I went to the doctor and he prescribed clindamycin gel and that made the problem worse. .  A few months ago i started using diprolene cream
(somebody else in my family had it from a rash on their hand) on it periodically when it flared up. I probably used it 3 or 4 times a week and used very little.  I know it is very strong and should not be used on the face at all, but it is the only thing that clears it up.  My question is:  Will using diprolene scar my face permanently?  I have noticed a red discoloration and i'm not sure if its from the rash or the diprolene. If I discontinue using it, will my skin heal?
