discoloration

by Micostar, Apr 06, 2007 12:00AM
A few months ago (around October November), I noticed what was a dark discoloration on the tip of my penis head, around the urethra (spreading out more on the right side then the left). On top of this, the left side of my urethra, the meat is slightly swollen (not moist or blister like, looks like the rest of the head, same type of skin, dry, not sore), it's just a small soft swollen bump (i had this on the  same swollen bump several years before, until i was circumsized, then the raised bump, which i was told then was an irritation due to my tight foreskin and the head being too moist and not washed properly) - back to the discoloration, it simply just looks darker, almost as though it is dirty. if i were to stretch the skin, the discoloration, instead of looking like a solid piece looks cracked, almost as though its extremely small brown spots that when the penis is not erect or skin not  stretched out, looks like a bigger solid piece. as the discoloration spreads out it begins to thin out and there are smaller dots here and there (also of the same brownish color. Also, it is not at all noticable until erect but some of the brown discoloration seems like little brown bumps (not sure if the raised aspect is just a trick of the eye). overall, the entire head of the penis is dry, and as it reaches the tip more of a yellowish color (as opposed  to the ridge), which is unlike before (all pinkish color). now, i went to my family doctor and looking at it from quite a distance said it may just be some burst blood vessel and dried blood under the skin, he sent me to a urologist and he took a look, squeezed the head and went through the whole process of observing it and said he actually noticed nothing wrong or abnormal at all. My worry now is, do i accept both the doctors diagnosis and not worry about it? i honestly know that there is a difference there, just as i described. i wonder if either it may be a fungal infection (my girlfriend has been getting yeast infectionS recently), or if it  could be something else that both doctors might have missed. thank you.

Yes, I would accept the doctors' assurances.  This does not sound like a fungal infection or an STD.  Most likely it's just a minor varation you happened to notice.

Take care.
