discolouration on legs

ok so i have areas on my legs and there somewhat discoloured, almost purple like loads of little purple and red veins. when i went to the doctors he told me to keep it moisturised, that it could be bad circulation. I have a blood disorder called beta thalassemia, but only a trait of it ( less hemoglobin goes round my body ) now over time i have noticed the discolouration spread and usually when im on my period my legs would start to ache and the marks would go more crimson and appear almost angry looking. Now the marks have moved down my ankle and is causing me alot of pain, i am waiting for my appointment with the dermatology department but i cant help thinking its more to do with my blood or circulation. Little things like it hurting when im on my period, and iv noticed hair doesnt grow from the discolouration patches, but grows everywhere else.

i know this is rather random and have been scrolling down to see if anyone has had anything similar but if someone has had a similar problem or has any advice id be really thankful.
