do i have genital warts?

by richmond, Oct 04, 2004 12:00AM
about three weeks ago i had unprotected sex with a girl that i have been dating for awhile. this was the first time that we had sex with each other. the last time that i had sex before this was about six months. during are sexual intercourse she advised me that she liked playing with a toy. while she was on top of me she put this toy inside of her. this toy was a dildo that was made out of some kind of rubber. the end of this thing was resting on my pubic area while she was moving back and forth on it. i could feel the friction while it was pulling my pubic hairs. four days after this i found a group of red bumps(about 10) that were spread out through my pubic area and one that was at the very bottom of my penis on the base. i made an appointment with my doctor. he told me that he thought that i may have gotten a yeast infection from my girlfriend. when i asked him if it could be an std he told me that he knew for sure that it wasn't herpes. he said that he didn't think it was anything, but that it could be genital warts at an early stage. he prescribed me some lotion for the possible yeast infection. i never told him about the toy incident. its been about two weeks now since i discovered the bumps and the proscibed lotion did not help.the bumps are raised and above the skin. they are kinda light red in color. when i touch them they feel hard and rough. there is no itching, pus or pain. they started off very small but now are about the size of the tip of a pen. they are only around the area where that toy was rubbing on my pubic hairs. is it possible to have visible warts four days after contact/sex or could they be some kinda blocked hair folicials? they dont look like the typical hand warts. what do you think from the desciption?

I think these are blocked follicles.  They do not sound like warts or herpes or any STD.  The toy could certainly have produced enough friction to cause the kind of changes you describe.  I think you should see a doctor with enough expertise in STD diagnosis not to say things like, "it could be genital warts at an early stage."  Meantime, just wash gently and leave them alone.

Best.
