dont know where to go with this

Hi, this is long story but I will just stick to the minimum.  I had a brownish rash on my forehead that appeared last May. Was referred to a derm doc, who was arrogant, and refused to even look at it. (can tell you the story). Here our system is pretty bad, and one waits months to see an expert.  as a result, i have lost about 2 inches of hair off my forehead, and it is now growing back, but is very dark, and i think the rash is still there.  I am able to see a new pc this coming week, and hopefully she can refer me to a different dermdoc.  An on line doc thought it was Seb. Derm.  (with psoriasis as a differential dx). He may have been right, but I cannot get the meds he thought were otc  because he is from Sweden and I live in the states.  I am so embarassed, I had  beautiful long thick blondish/silverish hair, and now I have to wear  bangs to cover up this black butch cut like hair and rash & also try to cover a spot on the crown of my head that seems to have some kind of buildup that can't be removed (that has been here since Sept. 09.  Could this be related to stress and an overly high dose of Adderall (adderrall)?  I was on 120 mgs, and dropped the Adderall (adderrall) XR after three days, and it has  been   In the meantime, how can I get rid of this ugly mess? It has changed.  It was very waxy after a severe sinus allergy type attack in June; this week I was hospitalized for some kind of duodenal thing, and now it is dry and flaky.  My  blood work does not show anything alarming, my cat scan at the hospital showed irritation of the duodenal and swollen lymph nodes in that area, but nobody was there to look at this rash.    I am so sick of looking so ugly, and having to spend an hour getting ready just to hide this mess and get out the door.

Welcome to the Dermatology Expert Forum!

Both Dermatitis seborrhoica and Psoriasis are chronic conditions and relapses  can be triggered by psychological stress. What you described does not sound like side effects of Adderall (adderrall).

From what you wrote, disease is still in relapse (active phase). Therefore, inflammation, flakiness, etc. should be addressed by a dermatologist who could prescribe potent topical medications with corticosteroids and salicylic acid, and other drugs if indicated.

Until you see a specialist, washing hair with antifungal shampoo with salicylic acid, or at least with anti-dandruff shampoo daily would be beneficial (you could try to keep shampoo foam on the scalp for 10-15 minutes). Sometimes, applying something as simple as olive oil (for 1-2 hours or over the night) can help with removing excess layers of dead cells located on the scalp.
