dry lips

my son has very chapped and dry lips. he drinks plenty of water and constantly puts carmex on them. I don't understand what else to do. They even swell at times.

Ask him to use a lip balm with sunscreen, apply glycerine at night and vaseline based lip balms several times a day.

A healthy diet is important and take a multivitamin to replace any deficiecies especially vitamin B complex and zinc.

This should help.

If the symptoms persist, take him to a dermatologist.
