dry scab on face from pimple

dry scab on face from pimple

I popped a pimple wish I didnt now but anyway the skin is really dry under and around the scab and the scab its self is so dry it hurts on and off.I was using retin a micro 0.1% cause of some acne this made my skin very very dry.Now the weather here is like zero and its so cold the scab on my face is cracking. The scab is so dry i want to put some moisturizer on it but im not sure if that would be good or bad for the scab itself?IT doesnt need neaosporin or anything its not infected.if it were you and you had a scab on you're face from a popped pimple and the scab was very very dry and cracked into 4 sections would you leave it alone or put something on it?im really not sure what to do I just want this thing to heal right.thanks any info will help.

Hi,

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .

You should try to keep the area dry and clean. Try some powder to absorb the sweat. Use a medicated sunscreen lotion - preferably one prescribed by your skin specialist.

Regards.
