dry scrotum skin

Dear reader,

Now about 5 months I have seen 2 circles of other color than my normal scrotum skin color, one under my penis and one at the right side when the penis starts. When I use some Nivea or a cream, the dryness despairs but the color is looking like the upper level of skin is removed.  it cracks and peels if it is dry.

From time to time I shave my scrotum when I am showering using shampoo.

shaving might be the reason? If so can it take so long with no healing? Eczema? or what else?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms eczema needs to be ruled out. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin. If still the symptoms do not improve then please get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
