dry skin on penis

i had been having these dry, white patches of skin on the top of my shaft off/on for about 2 weeks. i went to the doc and she said it doesn't look like an std and gave me some cream for it. it went away for about a week and then new spots appeard on the bottom of my shaft. they aren't red or aything and as far as i can tell there's no open sores. haven't had trouble urrinating or with any itching. i got tested for the first time a month ago and i'm wating on the results. should i be concerned because i've just been in this relationship for 4 months now and my previous girlfriend get's tested regularly and she is std free????
