eczema

by robz, Mar 15, 2009 12:03PM
Well i never had eczema until i was 14 years old, after i went to the swimming pool with my friends for 8 hours messing about. but after i went out of the pool i started to get a stinging sensation on my back it was extermly itchy that i didnt want to even touch my back, it was painful i applyed cream it got better ut it was still there after a few a day it was gone.
Soon after that the back of my knee on both legs started to get dry and because i have brown skin instead of going red it was going black, and i didn't go to my GP because i didn't no what it was i thought it was going to go away, but after a few month i did go to my GP and that was when my skin really hurt and i was so uncomfrtable that even walking was a struggle, i told my mother and i went to see the GP she diognoesd me and as eczema, i got few of prescriptions i can't remember now it was 4 years ago, sense then my arms started to get itchy the part where my arms bend but now my skin is better than four years ago it was a up and down hill to get my skin to this point i had to be very disaplend to to stop itching and my skin got better and now i am using Emulsifying Ointmen BP, Epaderm, i also use Piriton tablets 500 tablets in it, i have also used in the past years Clenil Modulite but i had to come of it because i think it thins skin, but it is still a struggle to keep my skin hydrated and i have to constantly use EMULSIFYING OINTMENT BP because my skin keeps draying up.
Eczema when i first go it really hurt my self esteem i never showed it to anyone except my family, and i didn't want to wear t- shirts or shorts in the summer outside, but i don't really care now i just wear t-shirt and shorts, i got swimming and all that ha! ha!

i have to 3 questions

1.what can i use to keep my skin hydrated for longer.
2. should i ask my GP to go to a skin specialist to help me
3. if i didn't have eczema my whole life will i be able to be cured from eczema, or will eczema ever be cureble
4.And what can i use for my lips cause it is getting dry and the skin colour is starting to change a little bit on the corner of my lips.
5.what can i use for the rest of skin to keep it hydrated cause i don't want the rest of my skin to ever get to the point of where my skin on the back of my knees got very dry and itchy and skin tone changes black.
6. lastly can  my skin colour change back to normal on the back of my knee and on my arms

This discussion is related to Exzema (eczema) of the lips?.
