      HI,

i have really bad itching. 2 months ago i had scabies but then it went away but the itch doesnt go away. i went to the doctor and it said that i had small infections in my skin. they sended me a treatment it calmed the itch but when the treatment was over my itch came back. The itchness in very bad i cannot control it please help.

Recurrent cases and relapses of scabies are not very uncommon if the medicines are not used properly. Sometimes there may be recurrent and chronic cases which may require oral treatment of ivermectin. Also permethrin has to be used head to the bottom of the feet, paying special attention to skin folds and the webs between fingers and toes and this cream has to be left for 10-14 hours. Sometimes itching of scabies persists for a few days after completion of treatment also. Please discuss this possibility with your dermatologist.
