erythema nodisum vs arthema multiform

The conditions sound similar, but have nothing to do with each other.  Erythema nodosum produces painful swellings on the legs.  Infections like strep throat or TB can trigger it.  It does away by itself.  Erythema multiforme produces red hive-like swellings on the hand,s, feet, and sometimes the mouth.  Sometimes viruses trigger it ond sometimes it comes for no reason at all.  For more information, consult a dermatology information site like New Zealand Dermnet.
