facial red mark

every so often ( once or twice per month) I have a  red mark that pops up on the top bridge of my nose. It is approx. 1 cm long and it looks like someone drew a line right between my eyes with a red sharpie marker and it forms suddenly, within a few minutes and it will last for about a day then it just fades aways.

From the symptoms it sounds like hives. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours.

The mainstay of treatment of hives is antihistamines.Take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine or Loratadine.Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(Benadryl) are used at night. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms.
You may take Vitamin C along with the prescribed treatment. Vitamin C is a general anti-allergy supplement. It helps stabilize mast cells so they are less likely to release histamine.

If the symptoms persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
