finger blisters

My son is 7yrs old and has recently broke out with skin blisters all over the palm side of his fingers and seems to be moving to the palms of his hands.  These blisters are not filled with anything.  They look like peeling skin.  He has been on Augmentin for strep throat.  

Is this a reaction to his meds or something else?

Hi,

Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium or augmentin is used to treat many different infections caused by bacteria, such as sinusitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, and infections of the skin.The usual side effects of Augmentin may include any of the following: mild diarrhea, gas, stomach pain; nausea or vomiting; headache; or skin rash or itching.

Are there other signs or symptoms present? Is he still taking augmentin? Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if  there is diarrhea that is severe or lasts longer than 3 days, nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, or jaundice. If it persists, it would be best to have this evaluated further by your doctor.
