finger nail disorder

my doctor think i have this but am not sure my nails were very lovely nice on long for year now about 3 months now maybe
i see my nails with ridges and the baby finger has a red think line all most less then 1 half is red the other nail only have a find line of red  but the tips on my nails are  so white there not clear anymore i so scared! please help me if ya can
do i need to go a see a Dermatology  as my doctor think it fungus but i look at the pic and my nail arnt like that
all most look like terry nail  could this be do the i going throw menapose? would hrt do this to me i been on them you 9months now! i kept my nail very short nail so i cant see the white tips plus i right hand thumb has a dend in it on the tip of it i was so upset i cut the nail back which remove the dent but if i let it grow i dint know if it will come right back should i let my nails grow an then go and see a Dermatology  and can you just call then or have to be perfured to them am i canada...
