Hi,

Scarring or hyperpigmentation after wound healing is common.

However, these usually resolve or grow less intense with time. In covered areas of the body, a treatment may not be necessary as the skin gradually comes back to normal. Nevertheless, there may be some residual scarring and you may choose to take therapy.

There are many methods to treat the scarring. These include, steroidal application, other chemicals such as heaprin derivatives which may be used. Microdermabrasion may also help in case of pitting.

However at the present time, it would be best that you try to keep the area clean and well moisturized. upon complete healing, you may consult your doctor for the scarring.

let me know if you may need any more information

Hi,
Ive been treating folliculitus (folliculitis) around genital area ,thighs and buttocks for about 3 - 4 weeks now

the hospitol doctor diagnosed me with folliculitus (folliculitis).. he prescribed me pills for 2 weeks,4 times a day.. the infection cleared up greatly.. but still itchy at times and still have bumps on my buttocks.. the hospitol doc also prescribed me a cream if neccessary.. i was told it was for inflamation (inflammation)... i applied it for a week then followed up with my family doc because the condition has been gettin better but not completely.. he said that i was prescribed the wrong cream .. so he then prescribed me a cream called bactoban..  i been applying it for about 1 week and the condition hasnt cleared up at all.. actually it seems as if im still infected.. randoms bumps and itches over my body..  I also have been applying penaten cream and petrolium jelly .. ... also i slight bump is raised on the top shaft of my penis... this is very annoying..

Hi,

You should try local application of mupirocin or neomycin ointment and calamine lotion to help soothe the itching.

Keep the sites clean, maintain good personal hygiene, wear lose comfortable clothes (preferably washed in chlorhexidine and sun dried), and avoid razors for hair removal.

You should reconsult with your doctor and get a repeat examination done.

Let us know if you need any other information nad post us about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts.

Regards.
