I'm very worried since the lighter area is quite noticeable. I've read that patience is the best measure in these situations but it's been so long already and improvement doesn't seem to be occurring much to me. Does this type of injury usually result in permanent hypopigmentationSkin - abnormally dark or light? If not, how long does it take to see significant improvement? More than another year?
Does the fact that I can still feel it indicate that healing is continuing? Thanks.
It doesn't usually cause hypopigmentation, but if it's still lighter then you may be the exception. It depends on how deep the original scrape was.
My advice is to wait three more months and then show a dermatologist for definitive diagnosis. I am not sure treatment will be available, but it's worth a look and an ask.
