friction burn or std?

by cbr_boy, Oct 28, 2009 04:44PM
recently i have noticed that my penis has become very tender on one side and is quite red and on my foreskin there are small blister type spots. it doesnt hurt, but it does get quite itchy. i have been having unprotected sex with my partner for about 3 months now as she has started taking the pill. lubrication isnt an issue as its rarely dry. any ideas whether its just friction burn or an std? perhaps something else?

To: cbr_boy,
Hello,
It can be due to blisters due to friction rub or contact dermatitis or herpes blisters. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments and take some oral antihistaminic like Benadryl for itching. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I have washed it several times during yesterday and today and seems to feel better, however the skin is starting to peel and looks as though it is starting to heal.

If in a couple of days it does not improve, ill consult my GP.

Again, thanks for your help!
