full body rash for a year

by toshi123, Sep 03, 2009 10:30AM
this rash is most prominent on my torso, a red stripe above the groin, and on my face.  I've seen a rheumatologist, gastro,  several derms (including Hopkins), and had ct scans..  it's not: cancer, autoimmune, gastro, or anything like that.  I'm trailing off prednisone and ramping up on cellcept which is mostly controlling symptoms (not too successfully yet).  I take a variety of antihistamines at night for the itching.  I'm in week 1 of an elimination diet to see if it's anything i'm ingesting (tho the docs don't believe it to be).  the rash is not scaly or patchy..just redness throughout.  I'm stumped, as are some academic derms.  any thoughts hugely appreciated!

I apologize, but your description is far too sketchy for me to offer an opinion.  Besides, you appear to have an unusual rash that has been examined by highly qualified academic dermatologists.  If they haven't yet been able to pinpoint it, you will need to work with them in person and put your questions to them.  You are not likely to find out anything more specific about your particular situation on the internet.

Thanks.
