fungus? bacteria?

by Confused in PA, Aug 24, 2003 12:00AM
Hey hows it going?

So here's the story, about three days ago I was doing very heavy duty work in my backyard all day and I got all sweaty doing that.  The only thing is that I was too busy and neglected to shower, for about two days, and when i did i realized I developed a rash in between my legs and on my testicles.  It is very dry and itchy, and I was wondering if it was a heavy duty case of jock itch, or is it something worse?  It has an odor to it i think, or maybe its just from the baby powder i put on it. It looks red and dry, like athletes foot almost, but in a different spot, and i think it maybe spreading.  I haven't had sex in a few months, but could it still be an std?  Could it be thrush?  Should i put like cortizone on it to make it not so dry and sore?

thanks

It could be jock itch (fungus) But is more likely a chafing rash from sweat, etc.  An STD hardly seems likely.

I suggest you keep the area clean (gently) and dry, using 1% hydrocortisone twice a day and powder after showering.

If that doesn't clear you up in 3 or 4 days, perhaps you should use some clotrimazole 1% creeam (OTC antifungal) and arrange to see a doctor.

Best.

Gee I rememeber how I used to suffer with that back (60's) before the stores were full of OTC antifungals. Once in a while I get something like that on the crotch or toes and I just use Quinsana medicated powder (tolnaftate) until a couple of weeks after the symptoms are gone. Works good. I say Quinsana because its the cheapest brand w/tolnaftate that I can find in the stores.

Gels dry.  I'd use creams.  Tolnaftae is antifungal.

Your case sounds very familiar to me. We have been researching strange and unusual skin invasions by fungi and parasites as well as parasitic fungi and we've recently made some great discoveries in the field. I think your friend should contact us so we could present a few symptomatic questions to her to see if we may be able to help her. If anyone else suffers from strange skin conditions like tiny black specks coming from the skin pores, white granules coming from skin, strange fibers protruding from skin, or other conditions such as Lyme disease, they, also should get in touch with us. if it IS the condition we have been working on, there is a cheap and very successful cure for it.

For a few months now, I have had big pimples on the inside of my thighs that break and fill again. I had one on my arm pit that did the same thing just before my thighs. That one went away after a while, but these ones do not seem to be going away. I told my doctor about them and he said to try antibacteral soap. It did not help. Someone said it may be a staff infection...what do you think? How can I get rid of them...what do I do?
