differential for this is a fungal infection. Fungal infections may appear as reddish rash with whitish bumps that may be itchy. They may be transmitted through direct skin to skin contact. These bumps may have well delineated red borders. I suggest that you have the skin scrapings from the area evaluated prior to applying any lotions or creams. KOH examinations may show fungal infection when present. Also, moisturize the area with Vitamin E cream this will ease the dryness and irritation. If this does not work, 1% hydrocortisone cream applied thinly once daily may ease the itchiness and the rash. Observe for two days. If no improvement is noted, have this assessed by your doctor so the right antifungal cream may be given.
