groin rash

by goodfella99z, Dec 03, 2006 12:00AM
Please help ... I have had a groin itch for 10 years now yes 10 years ive tried all kinds of creams sprays everything for jock itch for years the only relief i got was from hydrocortisone cream prescription strength but about 6 months ago it stoped working  so i tried trimcinolone acetonide cream which did help for a short time too but now even that stoped working  im desperate in the morning and during the day its tolerable although if i get hot or perspire it gets worst but at night god help me its absoletly untolerable its hellish i take sleeping pills to sleep  but benedril seems to help too the symptoms include unbelieveable itch  bright redness and the worst part is that its soaked with clear dischargeand its stichy i can actually soak it up with papertowels and it gets really bad at night sometimes ill put papertowels in my groin around my srotum or in my butt crack to soak it up  poders just turn into dough after a few minets. The only history is i had a single wart burned off my scrotum about 6 months  ago but my doctor asured me this has nothing to do with this rash that has spread down my inner thighs and up my but crack.  Ive been with the same womaen 10 years now and she and i are relly commited to eachother so i dont think its sexually transmitted she hasnt ever had any warts or itch so i dont know what to make oy this please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Tony

The first thing you need to do is pull yourself together.  This doesn't sound like an STD, and I haven't, as they say, lost a groin irritation patient yet.

Discuss with your doctor ways to keep the groin clean and cool (powder, weight loss, loose clothing, etc.)  Some mild topical anti-inflammatory creams may be worth considering too.  It is surely possible to minimize your symptoms, which do not sound the least bit serious, even if it isn't possible to eliminate them altogether.

Good luck.
