groin rash

groin rash

last year I had a bad case of itchy hands, upper back, and arm pits. I went to many doctors. they gave me allergy pills to stop the itching. I also had a bad case of groin rash. I was given all kinds of creams; 1) to put on my hands 2) to put on my groin. It eventually went away.
the itching around my arm pits and hands have gone away but the groin rash is still around. Im using the same cream (that was given by my dermatoligist) around the groin but seems to be getting worse. I am constantly changing my under wear because they are getting wet. The last time this happened, the dermatoligist told me to come in for a allergy test when it all clears up but I didnt. Could this be something that is common and we eventually go away or what.
Very troubled.

Hi,

There are many causes of groin rash, some of them being fungal infections, allergies, intertrigo, rash due to inner wear etc.,

In your case it seems that you have intertrigo or fungal infection, which is a irritation caused by rubbing of sweaty and warm body parts against each other.

The doctor can easily spot and treat this using local steroid/fungal  application as well as  oral treatments including anti-histamines.

Hope this helped. Let me know if you may need any more information.

best regards
