hi its me again letting u know how im doing,   still not doing well i have went to a docs office and doc did diagnose me with tinea capitus   only my looking at scalp and me telling him what was going on he put me on ketoconazole tabs 200 mg each    2 pills 1xdaily for 10 days   hopefully this will clear up the infection    the most thing i hate is the oozing fluid coming out and when i get hair wet in shower it burns bad took my first dose of meds last night how long should it take before i see some improvement?   i am still scratching at scalp. this is the pits i am so miserable with this. there is other thing that are going on also along with the scalp infection.   my balance and or equalibrium has been off for past few months  i cant stand for one hr before i want to fall over   i am getting a vestibular test done on the 9th and also have been having chronic head and nek pain for a long time. i have been from doc to doc with these things i am a caretaker at adultfoster care and have been on a med leave since middle of november because of all of this.    i have a question  i have asked all the docs about it    but almost 2 years ago i did a scabies treatment on my body for 7 days straight and put some of it on my scalp but only on scalp once  but i didnt wash it off right away it was like overnight 12-15 hrs   could that have to do with any of this even though its been 2 years almost.  it was the pymethrian cream   i used the stuff in the yellow and white tube please give me a respond back

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
You may be suffering from Tinea Capitis or Ringworm (fungal infection) of the scalp. Ringworm is a fungal skin infection that occurs on the face, body or scalp. The symptoms of Ringworm or Tinea Capitis include a dry itchy scalp, scaling, crusting, inflamed nodules, hair loss and tender enlarged lymph nodes on the neck.  Because of the scratching that is involved with the condition it can become secondarily infected with a bacterial infection.

To confirm the diagnosis, please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
