I have Herpes simplex type 1. Age25 F
I noticed during the time of my first outbreak I also had hair loss noticeable on my head. I was very sad about it. This was 5 months ago and my hair seems to be the same thickness after the loss of hair.

I suggest that you have this assessed by your dermatologist.
How old are you? Have you been diagnosed with herpes simplex type 2 infection? Has this been ascertained?
Hair loss is commonly associated with age, hormones and certain infections like a fungal infection. Seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis as well as discoid lupus may also present with hair loss. What you have may be two distinct conditions and they should be considered as two separate complaints.
