hard bump under skin on pubic area is this herpes

I shave my pubic hair offten. I practice safe sex. sometimes I get a bump on my pubic area and It feels very hard and it itches sometimes. its only one and usally goes away in about three or four days. It looks like hair is coming out of the bump. is this herpes or a boil or folliculitis hope I spelled that right.
please answer. Im worried to no end.....

Hi,

With your history of shaving, this is more likely a folliculitis or inflamed hair follicle. Genital herpes may present with blisters that may ulcerate and also associated with flu-like symptoms. Folliculitis, on the other hand, may resolve on its own but may also recur. Warm compress may help and try to avoid scratching to prevent secondary infection.
