head sore

I have a really sore red blotch kinda of above and behind both of my ears. It just recently appeared. I have noticed the rest of my head has been kind of itchy and sore, but not as sore as the spots behind my ears. I thought that it was because I wear my hair up alot but its been a couple days and hasn't gone away. Does anyone know what this might be?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It looks like irritated hair follicles due to folliculitis skin or swollen lymph nodes after any infection. Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lump persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

It sounds like allergies.  Could be you have food allergies or hay fever or some other allergy.  Maybe you had red wine?

May be the shampoo or conditioner you are using if using a new brand. If not it may be itchy scalp or allergic reaction to something. I would try changing the brand first then see if that helps. If not the doctor can give  you something to clear it up. I would try a medicated shampoo first. It is expensive but is relieving and it works.Good Luck hope this helped.
