herpes or wart

Hello Doctor, I will try to keep this short.  I have a small red spot on my penis right behind the head.  After I take a shower in the morning it is barely visible but still there, by evening it seems to be a little flaky.  Through mastubation or sex it can become more red, as my girlfriend and I were rubbing against one another the other night with our clothes on it was very red and flaky later.  I have had this for over 2 years and it does not go away.  I came in contact with a women a little over 2 years ago that had genital HSV--1 and I have been worried sick since.  Ive had burning, tingling, itching sensations in my groin and penis for over 2 year straight and has not gone away.  My doctor and two urologist have checked me and said the red spot is not herpes and we have done HSV-1 and HSV-2 blood test, one after 6 months and the other after 15 months both negative.  They say I have chronic prostatis.  They say herpes does not last for 2 years straight, and the lesions heal.  What is the red spot on my penis and why wont it go away, it does not hurt to touch and never has.   Could it be cancer or a wart or what?  Its been a long 2 years.  Thanks.

I think it's time for you to stop worrying about this.  Nothing you've told me reminds me of herpes in any way.  The redness is no doubt mild irritation, which can be aggravated by rubbing or friction, but that doesn't mean anything.  I think it's terriby unfortunate that you're still thinking about your sexual contact two years ago.  You don't have to.  Get the help you need, psychological included, to get past this.  It's time.

Good luck.
