well, to rule out herpes, you could get a herpes blood test done.  No, they will not do the blood test for HSV1 and 2 when you get checked out for STDs, you have to actaully and specifically ask for the herpes blood test, or herpes select test.  most people have the hsv1 anitbodies in their and most will never have an outbreak.  It's no biggie if you do.  you can go to herpesdiagnosis.com for more infor, or jsut check it out on medhelp.  The herpes pill might not work, because it might not be herpes.  I have never personally heard of herpes occuring there, but anything is possible.  Maybe you are allergic to some food or preservative in food.  It's worth looking in to.  Also, go see a dermatologist of and ear-nose-and throat doctor for further clarification on what it could possibley be, or ask your doctor to do a culture on it.  I am suprised they haven't already.  It doesn't soundlike herpes though.
