herpes????

herpes????

so i have a smooth red rash on my ball sack, 4 big red bumps at the base of my penis and tiny red spots on the side of it. it doesnt hurt but it does itch. the big bumps look kinda like ingrown hairs. this isnt the first time this has happened. when i got it looked at the DR said it was jock itch or a heat rash. but as i look more and more in 2 it i get freaked out cause it sounds like herpes. how can i be sure i dont have herpes?

If your doctor didn't think you had herpes, hopefully you dont. Herpes is usually painful, which your lesions aren't. Only a lesion culture can determine if you have herpes or not, which has to be ordered and obtained by your doctor. Did he prescribe you anything for the Jock Itch or give you any instructions? Has it gotten better? If you're trully concerned, feel free to go back to your doctor again and ask for a Herpes culture, or see if the symptoms get better with the doctors recommended treatment and care

Hello,
It is very unlikely that the bumps are herpes which present as sore blisters. Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub, folliculitis, cysts ,molluscum contagiosum(multiple, small, dome-shaped papules, often with a central depression or plug) or genital warts(caused by HPV infection).

Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You  can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
