Hi,

Is this patch scaly and do you have similar looking patch in other parts of the body?

If there is no itchiness, redness, swelling or discharge this does not sound like an infection. However, I still suggest that you have this assessed by you physician. Sexual activity entails manipulation of the genitalia which may cause minor cuts and abrasions on the penile skin. An other wise stable condition may get worse in the presence of irritation. Sexual activity also increases the risk for infection. It is necessary to have a definite diagnosis for the penile condition as a superimposed fungal infection may be present.

At this point, I am thinking of a psoriatic skin condition which is not infectious. An initial consult however, is still warranted

Hi,

Is this itchy?

Has this been present for quite sometime?

This may be thickened skin from irritation, a dermatitis or a psoriatic condition. These are just differentials and they need to be assessed by a dermatologist or urologist to exclude  these.

Without a significant sexual history, this may not be something infectious. If this is a dermatitis or a fungal infection, this may present with itchiness. Dermatitis is not contagious but sexual activity may aggravate the condition. As for a fungal infection, this may cause an infection to your partner although this may be transmitted through skin to skin contact and not necessarily through sexual activity.

Are there any palpable lumps in the penis?

Any problems with erection or ejaculation?
