Warts may be removed through application of salicylic acid, electrocautery or cryotherapy. For some, application of medications containing salicyclic acid may be done prior to surgical removal. I would not suggest that you apply the medications yourself. It is best to have this assessed by your dermatologist as the scalp may be readily irritated and we do not want to affect normal skin. A dermatologist may be able to assist you in applying the medication.
