Apply warm compresses, Neasporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
I also had some little red bumps on the head of my penis. I had my doctor examine them today. He said they were viral, name was something with a C I can't recall the name. Anyway he said that I probably got it when I had unprotected sex with my most recent girlfriend. He prescribed an over counter cream to help clear up the area it is Hydrocotisone 1%. He said it should clear up in a few weeks. How ever I forgot to ask if I run the risk of having a chance of another outbreak occurring at a later date. So that is basically my question. If this cream works as it is supposed to do I run a risk of another out break down the road even if I wear protection (which I will from now on)?
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub, folliculitis, cysts ,molluscum contagiosum(multiple, small, dome-shaped papules, often with a central depression or plug) or Fordyce spots which are normally found on the penis.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
