Hi!
First i would just like to say im from england as ive talked to someone from america and from what i hear dermatologists seem to work differently so if anything seems not quite right well that is why.
Ok.. well just over a year ago i was put on roaccutane and it worked really well, i loved the drug! About 2 months later the acne on my face started getting worse and was treated by my doctor with topical creams(all of which i have tried before) this didnt work, so he got me an appointment with another dermatologist, i have been to see her about 4 times in about 11 months. I have been given antibiotics and creams and so on but none work and my face is almost getting back to the way it was when i first took the roaccutane but the dermatologist still says she doesnt want to give me any more cause of the 'risks'. She says its dangerous and it isnt for 'what ifs'. Ive been told this same thing at my last two appointment i cant find another dermatologist cause if i stop going to see this one no one else will want to see me as you have to be referred by your family doctor. What do i do? i cant live like this anymore!
I have 42 x 20mg tablets of roaccutane left over from my first course of it, what would your thoughts be on me taking these? I was thinking about just 1 x 20mg tablet per day just to try and make it a little better. Does this sound ok? At the moment im also on erythomycin tablets and a topical liquid thing which has erythomycin in along with a benzyonycin gel. Do i still take these tablets and apply the cream if i start taking the roaccutane?
I really hope you can help, thank you very much!

On one hand, it is not more dangerous to take a second course of Accutane (Roaccutane in the UK.)  Second and third courses are perfectly all right.

On the other hand, if your acne recurred after one course, it may well do the same after a second.

When I see patients with your situation, I try topical and oral medications, but if they don't work, I try Accutane again, with no long-term promises.

I do not recommend that you take an inadewuate course of medicine unsupervised.  Among other things, it won't work.

I can't give you much guidance negotiating the politics of referral.  Perhaps a talk with your Family Doctor, explaining your unhappiness, may get you referred elsewhere.  To deal with bureacracies, one needs perseverance and political savvy.

Good luck.

Food Detoxification.

First clean your system.

We don't lnow neither your age nor sex. Irt is important because acne as we know is a common inflamatory disorder of the sebaceous glands. These sebum producing glands are under Andrigen control (like the male hormone testoterone) but the ase of acne is unknown.

Acne is readily treatable. Mild cases respond to topical therapiy with bezoyl peroxide or tretinom, whereas more refractory conditions require treatment with long- term antibiotics like erythromycin.

But antibiotics kill the flora of intestines and patients must reolace it getting enzymes and flora.

For treating women only androgens for severe or cystic acne. Niacinamide  cream is effective. Use Anti- pitta diet from Ayurveda, (http://www.kronon-offshore.com/Health-en/Ayurveda/pitta.htm) , also the diet for acne from Diet Therapies section (skin). Chinese herb Tiao He, Sarsaparilla.
Avoid fats, oils, chocolade, sugar. Zinc up to 100 mg per day for a month, vitamin A 10 000UI a day for a month. Red clover tea 3 times a day.

Toothpaste! Toothpaste dries everything up and it cleanses.
Good luck
