iching, dryness and little cracks on vagina.

I have some skin problem on my vagina. I'm not sure what it is. My skin feels very dry and is swelling slightly. I also have some little cracks of different size and length. They leave little blood spots on a toilet paper. They are located mostly on the entry to my vagina and next to anus. I had problems with dryness in this area.I visited doctor and they discover I have some thrush. Can this be related?
My doctor didn't give me much advice on this dryness telling it can be allergy, but it's painful and I really need to find what causes it. The cream for thrush soothe pain a bit but do not remove the cracks. -(I use it since three days) I had this cracks before and they just disappeared after few days but this time -it seems they keep for longer.

there are some additional information on my health that may help to diagnose it:
- I got tested for STD and all tests were negative.
- I may be infected with herpes,  as my partner has it.
- My doctor checked me on other vaginal infection and didn't find anything else than thrush.
- I also got cystitis that I currently cure.  (it's almost gone by now)
- I started taking contraception 1,5 month ago. It's microgynon. I never took it before.
- That is my first relationship in which I have sex so frequently- sometimes twice or three times a day a day.
- I got thrush before it usually caused itching and general discomfort in this area. The cracks appeared only few months before.
- I went through a lots of stress lately as so did my partner.
- my partner feels dry and uncomfortable as well, recently he discovered some red, little spots on a head of his penis. He has some kind of sore on his lip as well, but it's not what he usually get from herpes.
He also was tested on STD and the results were negative.
- we're not having any other partners.

I hope you can give me some advice before I will find a better/another doctor than my current one...
Thanks.

I stopped the cracking and bleeding cuts, itching, burning and I am pregnant!!!! I know this is an old post but since its still here I will reply and hopefully someone else can use this information. I live in Australia now but I am from America so most of the things I used should be available there at the pharmacy or naturapath places. I have everything that all the ladies are talking about. Never had yeast infections, I have had these symptoms for a month I tried the cream, and inserted stuff. Not the oral since I am pregnant. NOTHING worked maybe relieved the symptoms a bit but they came right back. After reading all of the recommendations from other web sites and here I did them all and with in three days I am itch, cut, and burning free. I never did see a doc most would just recommend drugs anyways.
First of all I did one last inserting antifungal becasue I did have the really thick creamy cottage cheese of a yeast infection.
Then: Took two sachets of Ural (powder form of cranberry juice 9.9g each) with two tablets of cranberry 10000mg each ( which is really vitamin C).
Second I used a tea tree and lavender antiseptic 5-6 drops with 1/2 cup warm water. Used a cotton swab to dab and throw away and use another to dab another place. I did this three times a day. It really help sooth the itching and burning. Which really helped the skin heal.
Third: I have been taking one tablet twice a day of probiotics and three-four Yakult (which is a small shot of probiotics) liquid.
Fourth: I stopped eating white bread, all sugar, coffee. (Obviously I don't drink alcohol cause I am pregnant)
Fifth: I ate a couple pickles. I read a lady mention the alkaline abilities of the vinegar stuff of apple cider vinegar and it tastes like crap so I would rather each a pickle or some olives.

I did this all every day for two days. One the third day I took a bath in a antiseptic emollient used for eczema then did the tea tree.
Now the fourth day!!! NO itching, cuts are gone, burning totally gone.

Best of all I am prego!!!! All the oral things I took are natural and water soluable which means the body uses what it needs then you pee out the rest. (Vit C, probiotics, cranberry).

I also wanted to mention that I was a little sexually active and my partner didn't mention until I told him I had cracked girly bits. He said is penis had tight skin and painful burning cracks. He isn't circumcised so he would have the same issues as us. His would go away in a week or two. But I would bet that we were passing it back and forth and not knowing it. Which wouldn't help me at all. So no sex for a while and doing all the things I said previously should make an impact.
I hope this helps anyone else out.

I have the similar problem. Mine is at the vaginal area, around clitoris and within labia minora. It is painful and irritating. I went to doctor and he said it is herpes. And said I have some cracks down there. I used the herpes cream it get better but I still feel tingling and pain sometimes. went through blood test and urine test all fine.

Since I guess it was cracks, i try to walk and sit slowly..pee/poo lightly..it works sometimes but not all the time.

I'm going back for my gynecological doctor soon because i still feel the pain sometimes..and i doubt it is not herpes. because me and my partner only have sex between us.

Hi,

You should see your OBG at the earliest. You need to rule out herpes for one and find out the cause of your symptoms.

Nothing can be said with surety without a proper clinical evaluation.

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .

Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how you are doing.

Regards.
