Although it's not always possible to prevent folliculitis, it may help if you avoid constrictive clothing, shave with care, or clean your hot tubs regularly.
Folliculitis or infection of the hair follicles appears as small, white-headed pimples around one or more hair follicles. Superficial folliculitis often clears by itself in a few days without medical treatment. Warm compresses and anti-itch creams, can help relieve symptoms. However, if it persists, it would be best to see your doctor for further management. The therapy will depend on the type and severity of your infection present.
