ingrown hair?

by theonetheonlybilly, Dec 12, 2007 01:00AM
Recently i have noticed a small  reddish bump in the area between my scrotum and buttocks. When squeezed it produced a small amount a pus. I have gotten these before above my penis where the majority of pubic hair grows. It never itches, scabs, and isn't terribly painful. They seem like pimples or ingrown hairs. I have trouble telling if these are in fact ingrown hairs though because of the location and thickness of my pubic hair. They are never on the shaft of the penis or scrotum and it is always a single bump. I fear an STD. I have looked up pictures of genital herpes and my bumps do not seem to resemble them in any way, but i am still very nervous. Are my fears legitimate?

Hi,
There is a possibility of that it is an ingrown hair which got infected. Please get yourself evaluated by a dermatologist. Presence of pus indicates infection.
