insect bite

hi, doctor prescribed aceclofenac 100mg for the insect bite, is that ok?

Aceclofenac is an oral NSAID that is effective in the treatment of painful inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.  

It also provides effective analgesia in other indications, such as dental or gynecological pain, lower back pain, post traumatic pain and ear, nose and throat indications. It is generally well-tolerated with a lower incidence of gastrointestinal adverse effects.

Its utility in insect bites is however doubtful It may provide some relief from pain and inflammation. The most common oral treatments for insect bites are antihistaminics (such as cetirizine, loratidine) available over the counter.

However, if the symptoms persist or increase in frequency or intensity or you experience any difficulty in breathing or sweating etc, you should immediately consult a doctor for second opinion.
