interesting dilemma with dual case of folliculitus

I was diagnosed with folliculitus a year ago shortly after getting a hair cut discovering the skin infection. At the time they caused no discomfort but decided to see a doctor. The first doctor prescribed me for doxycycline for 2 weeks during the course of the medication it went away. After a couple days they came back. Having to go to a naval hospital I don't get a choice in who my doctor is and my original doctor had been moved to a different base. This new doctor didn't even look at my scalp and prescribed me with doxycycline for a whole year 2 pills a day, but after being on the antibiotic I think I have developed gram-negative folliculitus which cause large pimples to appear on my nose ( boils in other words). I know that I should stop taking the antibiotics to stop the gram-negative folliculitus but this time around the folliculitus on my scalp has become itchy and painful.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Antibiotics for gram negative bacterial infection are different and you need to get the sore cultures for bacterial or fungal infections and then specific treatment can be started. The scalp sores can be due to perifolliculitis scalp. It is characterised by small, very itchy pustules within the scalp, often most troublesome on the frontal hairline. The scalp should be washed with a mild normal shampoo as often as desired. Antidandruff shampoos containing antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or ciclopirox are sometimes helpful. Apart from that you need topical and oral antibiotics, antihistamines, oral steroids and topical tretinoin.

My sincere advice is to get it examined from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing

I guess I forgot to ask the question in all of that. Is there some other way of treating/curing the scalp infection without further aggravating the possible gram-negative folliculitus (caused by the prolong use of the antibiotic)?
P.S. Confirming the gram-negative folliculitus with a doctors appointment.
