itch itch itch!
I had a rash that started with little red bumps all over "heat rash" area... under the breast under urms and inner thighs. went to the dermatologist..first treated it with over the counter stuff... sarna cortizone and such...than when itch got a lot worse and bumps went everywhere biopsy said alleergic reaction to some chemical?? but dont know what!! ..after 3 visits... he gave me steroids. first 5 days 60 mg and next 5 days 40 mg and so on until the last 5 days 10 mg. I take zyrtec every morning and night. I have hydroxsine for the night time .. so had a relief for a few days and now came back. they dont know what it is! Im a mom of twins! and a six years old and want to go back to be a happy mom again. this itching makes me CRAZY! please anyone?

I have an itching problem since lase three years. I am on histamines, orally as well as topically. Few nights back I started itching inside the skin. this was my first experience. Scratching did not help . I did take one extra pill of antihistamine and slept. this is my first experience.I found in some site, some problem in liver can create this problem.Lot many things are not known in dermatology or doctors do not care to know.
Really happy for you, I am suffering from some unberable itching and am looking for anything that will stop it

To find out the offending allergen which may be causing this allergic reaction as confirmed on biopsy, it is better to get investigated. Diagnosis of skin allergies includes Skin ***** tests (pricking the skin with a needle or pin containing a small amount of the allergen ('***** Testing' or 'Scratch Testing'), Patch tests (by applying a patch to the skin, where the patch contains the allergen.) and RAST.
Once the offending allergen is identified, along with the medicines like antihistaminics and steroids which you are already taking, avoiding the allergens helps.
