itching on face

itching on face

This started 15 years ago, I have a burning itch that started around my eyes and I would rub
them raw, then my doctor said it was spreading to my cheeks and chin and neck , I have to try and sleep
with my head not laying on anything cause I can feel the heat , or burning itch starting and it will wake me up
and I have to get Cold wash rag and cool down my skin.. The skin actually get hot just like and infection, once
I cool it down with a wash cloth and cool water it stops itching for a while and I can sleep for 2 hours, then starts all
over again.   This rash or what ever it is has never when away , even for a little while , If it gets where i can't stand
it any longer the doctor give me a shot of somekind of cortizone or steroid and it will stop the rash for about 30 days
or less,   I use lotions and cortizone and face creams trying to keep the skin from  getting so inflamed and sore..
1 doctor I went too, thought it may have been lupus , but know body knows for sure..    got and Ideas

Hi,

Nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions.

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .

Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema. Keeping the affected area moistened can promote skin healing and relief of symptoms.
