itchy labia

by ydamod01, Sep 20, 2006 12:00AM
Hi, A year back I had put on weight and my pants were real tight. There were a couple of trousers (similar kind) that hurt both sides of my labia because of the tightness. I stopped wearing those pants. but becuase of it the areas on the 2 sides of the labia became real itchy and became kind of sore (maybe because i was scratching everytime I had a shower). I try my best to keep that area clean but its been months since the sores have healed completely(right from July). Its more itchy at times and at times it doesnt itch at all. Sometimes I hope its not any STD (like herpes). I have only one sexual partner with whom I have been having sex since 2 years.I am his only sexual partner as well and I am 100% sure of that.
I try not to scratch that area anymore. I do apply hydrocortizone sometimes. Please tell me its not an STD. What should i do for it to heal? Why is it not healing? I try to keep that area dry and am really careful. Can you please suggest some cream that will help heal faster?

Sounds like eczema triggered by the irritation.  You may need a somewhat stronger cream, a prescription-strength hydrocortisone.  I'd check into that by asking your doctor.  But it doesn't sound sexual, or contagious, and should be pretty easily treatable, I would think.

Take care.

Do u mean one day it will itch and one day it wont?  Or like it will itch for a few wks and then wont itch again until months later?  I dont think persistant itching is a sign of herpes.  Yeast itches.  Try vagisil for the relief unitl u can figure out whats going on and while ur waiting for the doctor.  Good luck!

Thanks very much for the information. I feel much better now. It was killing me mentally. I made an appointment with the Gyn this friday. Hopefully that will take care of it.
Thanks again
