itchy palms and soles

itchy palms and soles

For quite some time I have been having  itchy palms and soles. Let me tell u I have psoriasis for last 13 yrs. Presently I am on tigason(spellings?).   Present itching seems to be different from psoriasis related itching. It is come and go phenomenon. It occurs on other parts of the body also but palms and soles are worse affected. On other parts of the body including shoulders. arm pits, tummy sides and thighs also get rashes. Rashes are usually without any shape but slightly raised red patched without inflammation. On thighs the rashes are more roundish and pulpy but in a restricted area. Occasionally I also have a swollen lower lip after stinging sensation. Usually rashes appear while asleep and go away during day time.

Hi,
Hives are red, itchy welts or swellings on the skin that often come in clusters. In doctor speak, hives are known as "urticaria."They most often occur as part of an allergic reaction. Hives usually appear suddenly and go away on their own in a matter of days, hours, or even minutes.
Hives are often caused by a hypersensitivity to:
•Foods (commonly eggs, shellfish, nuts, berries, dyes, or other additives)
•Drugs (any drug can touch off an allergic reaction, although allergies to penicillin, sulfa, and aspirin are especially common)
•Pollens and plants (nettles, poison ivy, poison oak, and so on)
•Animal fur
•Insect bites or stings
•Exposure to heat, cold, or sunshine
Other potential triggers include physical exertion or exercise, stress, illness, chemicals, cosmetics, textiles, and pressure from materials rubbing against the skin.
Comfort is the main goal of treatment, since most hive outbreaks are relatively minor and short-lived. To soothe itchy skin, try cold compresses, calamine lotion, a cool shower, or a tepid bath with a few tablespoons of cornstarch (the kind sold in drugstores) thrown in.
Try an over-the-counter antihistamine to reduce your body's response to the irritant and to relieve itchy feeling.
Eliminating foods or other triggers that cause you to break out is the key to preventing hives. If you don't know what causes your hives, keep a diary of what you eat as well as what you do each day and what medications and other products you use. Allergy testing can also be helpful.
