itchy skin whelps

for the last two weeks i have had very itchy skin, and when i scracth it turns red and whelps up. it seems to be worse at night. could it be from the coffee i drink every morning before work.

To: whelps or hives
my daughter is only 8 she has breakouts of whelps, this appears to be happening when certain person may arrive, she can often be alone and they not appear but when that person appears unexpected whelps occur. she is taking some sample meds for nerves could this be apart of one symtom?
