just need some answers

how long does a jock itch last for? Its been itchy around the pubic area and scrotum. At first i thought it was herpes. I went to four doctors and said it wasnt and then i went to the dermatologist and he took a little glass and just put it on my pubic hair area and took it to check it out and it was a fungal infection cause i also have follicities. i dont know how to spell it. I was prescribed a cream and two prescription pills. How does this infection take to go away?

Jock itch is a fungal infection and will take a few days to go away. Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels. Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment.

Its been itchy for five weeks three days but the dermatologist prescribed me natin cream with dorxy and and pill prescription about a week ago. The itching has gone down but it still itchess. I didnt think it was jock itch with follicuites too. I first thought it was genital herpes cause of the itchiness i had. i went to four doctors including the dermatologist which was the last doctor i saw and they all told its not genital herpes cause i have no blisters, sores, rash, or lesions. That when you get infected with herpes you show those symptoms in a month.
