my brother has a lump in his leg that is really painful, it also has purpal vains running from it. should he beconsernd?

I was wondering if anybody could help me with my situation. I hit my leg on concrete very hard the other day and now I have a huge lump on my leg and I don't know what's going on. It's purple with a scrape on it.   Should I go see a doctor about this? Or should I just leave it be? I'm very concerned. Please help me

This painful lump on the leg can be due to a boil, abscess, cyst or some benign growth pressing upon the nerves. Apply warm compresses on the bump and keep the area clean. Drainage is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head. Give some over the counter pain reliever and consult a doctor for examination and antibiotics prescription. Incision and drainage may also be required.
