lichen planus

i was diagnose with lichen planus about 3months ago, was given dermovate ointment to treat the condition but i am left with very dark scarring or pigmentation, i am black , can you recommend anything to help with the scar basically how to get rid of the black marks.

Lichen planus is a disease in which there is an itchy, swollen rash  on the skin. The exact cause of lichen planus is unknown but it is usually associated with an allergic or immune reaction. Lichen planus is generally not harmful and may get better with treatment. However it may last for weeks to months, and may come and go for years. It usually clears up within 18 months. If it persists, have this evaluated further by your dermatologist for proper management.

I was diagnosed with Lichen Planus in April of this year.....I have the outbreak on my arms, and legs and a few light spots on my upper chests, my outbreak looks like measles ,sorta.....I was on steroids for a while, and it got better,but when I ceased the meds it reappeared,,however, mine is not nearly as severe as I've seen on the internet , I'm wondering if the biopsy could have been wrong, as I have heard there is a similar condition in Texas caused by mosquito bite,,,(was in the paper) I have started going to a tanning bed, because I also heard the ultraviolet light helps with this condition, is this true ?
