Hello- i used to wax my lip but after a year if doing this, my skin above my lip became lighter. I know alot of people have a problem with the lip being darker from the rest of the face but my issue is the total oppostite. To deal with the problem i put darker makeup on my lip so you can't tell that my lip is ligheter from the rest of the face. I also tried tanning but that also didn't work. I am embarassed to not well makeup because i am always thinking that there a people looking at my lighter lip! please help me! what should i do

I have the exact same problem (of a lighter discoloration on the upper lip from waxing) and I don't like wearing make up everyday to cover the colour difference. I just realized that you made that comment two years ago so I was just wondering if you found any remedies to equal out the colour.

Thanks

Hi,

Nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions.

Since when have you noticed the lesion? Do you have any other symptoms or such lesions elsewhere?

You need to drink plenty of water daily – around 1.5 – 3 litres per day and eat a balanced diet. Do not keep your lips dry; apply lip balm which contains sunscreen – preferably a medicated one.

If the symptoms still persist, consult your skin specialist or dermatologist.

Let us know about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts.

Regards.
