little bumps on my head?

There are 2 or 3 of them and they are small, at biggest the size of a pearl. They feel really hard too. They've been there for a year or two now. I hate them. They are completely covered by my hair. Please do help me.
What are they?
How did they get there?
How do I get rid of them?

If they itch, they might be an infection of the hair follicles. I have a similar problem and my doctor gave me a prescription for topical erythromycin. It comes in a roller-ball applicator and I apply it every night to the infected spots. In two weeks they are gone. Try a different doctor

That is what the doctor told me  but he offered no cure.  They itch like crazy.  Having a name for something does not cure it.  I believe the doctor is clueless as he has no treatment.

Hello,

I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it sounds like sebaceous cyst. A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac occurring just under the skin which contains a "pasty" or "cheesy" looking substance called keratin. They may occur anywhere on body but scalp, ears, back, face, and upper arm, are common sites for sebaceous cysts. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.

Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected,Then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required.A dermatologist may then be consulted.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
